Stable Hands Capital Campaign

Building a Stable Future

From its inception in 1992 to the present, Stable Hands has offered valuable equine therapy that has enhanced the quality of life and health for special needs individuals by improving physical, emotional, cognitive and social development.

Phase 1: Complete
Stable Hands has achieved its first goal of having a permanent location. It is a 25-acre former horse farm in the Town of Stettin on the outskirts of Wausau, Wisconsin and built a heated and insulated 160 x 80 foot indoor arena for program activities.

Phase 2: Plans to Break Ground 2023
This phase seeks to build an attached stall barn to the indoor arena. It will accommodate the Stable Hands herd and provide two accessible restrooms for clients, staff, volunteers and guests. The barn will have a loft viewing space, stalls with paddock access, restrooms as well as feed and hay storage all under one roof for safer and easier access to the indoor arena.

Phase 3: Future
The final phase will bring the entire program under one roof as vital facility and community center. This final addition will have staff offices, kitchen, community space, bathrooms and viewing windows into the arena.
